FAQ’s and other need-to-knows…
If you have questions or concerns that I haven’t touched on here please contact me via the form at the bottom of this page.
What does a website cost?
Of course price varies based on every clients’ needs, but I can tell you my minimum charge is $400 and can go up to $1000 for e-commerce sites. My prices are honestly quite low compared to other freelancers and firms, I urge you to check around and find out for yourself.
If my minimum sounds too high for you PLEASE STILL CONTACT ME. I am very flexible, I offer payment plans, and I do pro-bono work on occasion for non-profits whose causes I believe in.
The problem, my solution.
The reason I hear most from people in regards to why they don’t have a website for their business is cost. It’s now my goal to help small business owners and entrepreneurs like myself get a vital resource up and running for them, and the only way I can do that in a helpful way is by doing it for as low of a cost as I can while still providing for myself and my family. This does not mean that doing it cheaper than the ‘big guys’ will make it any less beautiful or of less quality. I truly enjoy making sleek and professional websites and will not produce anything I would not be proud of. Every single project matters a great deal to me and customer satisfaction is a top priority. My business is to some extent dependent on word of mouth and customer referrals so it would not serve me well to do poorly executed work.
Do I offer payment plans?
Keepings costs down.
Let me be upfront here, I do not claim to be a super-guru developer. What I do claim to be is a great D E S I G N E R. I have a good eye for design and typography and I have good taste, which is more important than you might think. I do not have the experience of a longtime developer or a designer with a firm may have. This is good for you because my being somewhat new to the business world is why I can’t charge $thousands$ of dollars, it wouldn’t be right, BUT with the experience I do have I can absolutely get you a sleek, well-functioning website with proper search engine optimization (SEO) so that your business can be on the same playing field with others in it’s category. That’s the first way I’m able to keep my costs down.
The second is by using a CMS (Content Management System) such as WordPress. This saves me time with writing some of the foundation code and that, in turn, saves you money. Every client’s needs are different so I won’t know whether I’ll be building your website from scratch myself or using a type of CMS, it will depend on what is best for you based on the features your website requires.
Thirdly, I’m a one-woman shop. I’m the only one you’ll be dealing with, I do all the sketches, photoshopping, designing, coding, everything it takes to get your project finished. I don’t have a staff to pay, I don’t have an office space I rent, I own my own software and hardware so I don’t need to tack on fees to cover those types of expenses. The only additional costs aside from the actual designing would be related to printing costs should your project require it.
What is included?
Limits on you. Yes, you.
How long will a website take to build?
What anyone would like to know, unfortunately there’s no one answer. Job time will depend on complexity of the work and what I may have on my plate at the time, but in general a basic website can take 2 to 3 weeks (e-commerce sites will take longer) and print work will vary. I will always get things done as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.

About A Girl and Her Mac
I’m a web designer based in beautiful San Antonio, TX and I focus on helping small businesses and non-profits get great websites. Many small business owners resort to using free site builders with templates because of their lack of funds. The end result is usually ugly and unorganized. I work with their budgets and offer payment plans so they can have another option without feeling like they are emptying their capital before the business has even taken off.
